Legal Article/Comment Writing Competition for LL.B./LL.M. Students

Law Centre‐I announces Legal Article/Comment Writing Competition, 2018 for LL.B./LL.M. Students.

Entries may be sent on any contemporary legal issue. The following prizes along with Certificates shall be awarded to the winning entries:

1. Legal Article of about 5000–6000 words including footnotes

Prizes: 3000/‐ for two Best Articles

2. Legal Comment/Note of about 3000‐4000 words including footnotes

Prizes: 1200/‐ for one/two* best Comments/Notes

The winning Articles would become the property of LC‐I and would be published in the next issue of Journal of Law Teachers of India (JOLTI).

The contestants of Articles/Comments accepted for publication would be paid 1000/‐ for Articles and 500/‐ for Notes and Comments.

Submission: A soft copy of the Article/Comment/Note in conformity with the conditions and guidelines is to be mailed to jolti.editor@gmail.com on or before 15th Feb. 2018.

The writings which have already been submitted for another magazine, publication or contest are not qualified for contest. The candidate has to give a declaration as to originality and copyright. All entries should be in Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing. The footnotes should be in font size 10, single line spacing.

Review of Articles and Acceptance: The Articles will be selected by an Editorial Board and peer reviewed before publication.

Last date for receiving full Articles/Comments: 15thFebruary 2018

Results of the Competition: The results are likely to be announced on 25th February 2018

Criteria for Evaluation: The Articles/Comments will be evaluated by the Board on the following criteria:

1. Substantive Content; 2. Clarity of the Analysis; 3. Quality of Research; 4. Quality of Writing including Organization; 5. Grammar, Syntax, Logical Flow, and Coherency; 6. Originality & 7. Contemporary Relevance
