Biography

Dr Shachi Singh is assistant professor at the Law Centre I, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. Dr Shachi Singh has worked on the implementation aspects of the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit Sharing from the perspective of developing nations as part of her doctoral study. Her research interests include the concept of fair and equitable benefit sharing in environmental law, efficacy of national access and benefit sharing laws and alternative dispute resolution, such as arbitration and mediation, as effective mode of dispute resolution in access and benefit sharing arrangements. She has also worked on private international law issues arising in cross-border surrogacy cases. She teaches Law of Torts, Principles of Contract, Environmental Law, Drafting, Pleading and Conveyancing, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
