North East Cell

In 2012 the Ministry of Human Resource & Development, Govt. of India by a notification directed all the institutes to constitute North East Cell (NE Cell). Thus, in Law Law Centre-I, NE Cell was constituted and started to function actively since then.

The objective of the said 2012 Notification was to create a congenial atmosphere for the North East students in the wake of racial discrimination being faced by the North Eastern people living and studying in other parts of the country.

The North Eastern States consists of states of Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim.

Objectives of North East Cell

  • To sensitize the students coming from different cultural background, to help them have amicable and conducive atmosphere in the campus leveraging equality, sensitivity towards other culture and promoting a sense of fraternity among the students as well as the faculty.
  • To help all the students from North-East states studying in the institute to provide a platform to share and sort out their problems.
  • To spread awareness of the unique traditions and cultures of the North East so as to amalgamate the nation with the lesser known cultures of Northeast India and contribute towards national integration.
  • To counsels students, providing a friendly atmosphere far away from home and integrate students from the North Eastern States into the mainstream.
  • To provide guidance to the North East students in adapting to Delhi and the demands of college life.
  • The Cell also strives to promote awareness and celebrate the region's unique and magnificent cultures.
